New Hard drive

What the title says. Got a new hard drive, so I shouldn't have any more boot troubles. Unfortunately, I've also managed to brick most of the mysql data on my old hard drive, so pretty much all my old posts were lost. Oh well? Anyways, just trying to get the site back up.

Finally Back

So, it's been a fun summer: I set up that blog with rails, except now the hardware that I'm hosting it on is acting up, and giving me terrible, terrible grub errors. It's very sad. Anyways, since it's not up, I'll have to first get it back up and running (easier said than done when remote troubleshooting and your brother is the tech on call ;) and then post a link to there, since this page appears to be the first thing on the Google listings for "the novice oof". Go me.

Anyways, I'll check in again soon.

Hello World!

While my project page isn't up, I've decided to go ahead and make up a blog, since making my own blog under rails seems to be a bit trouble. Not the whole 'making a blog' part, but adding a comment system and filtering spam from it . Because really, if readers can't talk back, then what's the point of the blog? Versus having a project page, in which I'm the one doing the projects, and interaction is not especially needed: email/IM can fill the gaps, I presume. Actually, I just did a web search, and it appears that akismet is a comment spam filtering plugin. Heh. Go me. So I might not be hanging around here for that long: until next time.
